Boys Soccer puts up 5 goals in win

The Newington boys soccer team waited seven games for a victory. For three long weeks, the Indians suffered through a seven-game skid which included two one-goal losses and another two-goal setback. They were in games, but they weren’t winning games.

That all changed Thursday afternoon.

The Indians exploded for five goals in a 5-1 win over Weaver in Hartford.

Andrew Rucci scored twice while Paul Amenta, Joey Terranova and Richard Junquera added one each for the Indians, now 2-7.

Newington showed its stellar team play in the win by recording eight assists. Junquera, Terranova, Amenta, Justin Durocher, Connor Buckley, Luke Gilchrist, Adam Seguro and Jordan Aprea all tallied helpers in the victory.
