Varsity Head Coach

Jeff Brunetti Bio:

My soccer playing experience began early on. It became an extremely significant part of my life in college when I received a full scholarship to play goalkeeper for the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils from 1999-2002, a Division I program. Shortly after college I gained professional experience when I signed to play with the Massachusetts Pioneers. The Pioneers were a Division III club based out of Ludlow, MA. Currently, I still am an active player for the Hartford Portuguese Club in Newington, Connecticut.

As a soccer coach for the last 12 years, I have gained a wide range of experience. My first coaching position was with Star Goalkeeper Academy (SGA) and The Connecticut Soccer School (CSS) with world renowned owner Daniel Gaspar. Originally I was a goalkeeper specific educator. The year before I started teaching I became the manager of operations for SGA and The CSS. My first team I coached was as a head coach for a boys U-16 premier team in 2003. I coached them for 2 years until they went off to play in college. During this time I started coaching high school soccer as an assistant in 2004 and became the head coach of Newington High School Boy's Soccer in 2010.

JV Assistant Coach

Shayne Munoz Bio:

I was fortunate enough to join the Newington High School coaching staff in the fall of 2012 as the freshman coach. The following year I moved up to junior varsity. I am also an assistant coach for Oakwood Soccer Club. I enjoy coaching these various levels and helping the players learn.

Soccer is a passion of mine; I have been playing it ever since I was able to walk. I played travel for many years before joining various premier teams such as FSA, World Class and Oakwood. I was a four-year varsity player at Newington High School and hope to give back to the program that supported me through all my years.

My goal as a coach at Newington High School is to help players learn the game of soccer and become well-rounded student-athletes. I hope to share my passion of the game with the athletes and help facilitate them to do their best.

Freshman Assistant Coach

Carl Fleming Bio:

I joined the Newington High School coaching staff in 2013 as an Assistant Coach and head of the freshman soccer team. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with the players and the team. My goal is to promote the growth of each student-athlete on and off the field.

Soccer has been a big part of my life since childhood. My playing experience includes several years playing under the tutelage of Leszek Wrona and three seasons as a starter on the Newington High School Varsity soccer team. I began playing for Leszek Wrona's Soccer Academy in 2003; training and participating in various camps throughout the year. In 2005, I joined Wrona's AJAXS Premier Soccer program and played with them for five seasons.
